Special TSC

The 20th Toward a Science of Consciousness was bigger than the previous ones in every sense. Penrose, Searle, Dennett, Koch, Chalmers, Block, Baars, Blackmore, Hameroff and other famous thinkers were there to state their approaches to the one of the least understood phenomenas.
And AI dangers are becoming a hot topic!

This time I presented a poster. A huge one as the panel sizes were the strangest ones I have ever seen ;)

As always I was talking about the dangers of conscious machines and how The Crowd could help the AI to learn our moral rules. This year I concentrated on the "Task-Oriented machine consciousness which applies different levels of consciousness (or rather controlled "illusions of consciousness) to different machines. Of course any system can be hacked, as Roman Yampolskiy (on the right) says, but we both agree we need to make AI that could limit the consequences of such attacks.

David Chalmers always looked like I did 20 years ago.

But now the hairs are shorter and beards are gone.

TSC conferences are famous for after-conference events. Rappers, poets, blues and hard-rock singers singing about... yes, consciousness.

Arizona University Bookstore was well prepared to the hundreds of participants. Our COOP bookstore should learn!
I have used the whole monstrous space given for a poster!
