Watching my son playing with the software and hardware makes me think.

On one hand we are worried about all the traps and about how a kid can easily become addicted to these sophisticated gadgets. But on the other hand, if we control the access a bit, a child might get interested in the process of creation rater than the addictive product itself, e.g. he or she might choose a "game making game instead of a normal one. But building / creating process is more tiring, it can make you bored much faster than a "run and jump game that looks completely pointless (until you try). We are flooded with rich stimuli and we have to process them or filter them out. Its not easy, and maybe "brainless games are just a form of a break from this flood? I dont know. But Id feel more relieved if my offspring is on the creator side and I am happy he shares my interests.
