Father of Polish Karate

Chiyomaro Shimoda, one of the most fascinating people I met, has passed away. He was the one who brought, accidentally (!), karate to Poland, who studied acting under famous Grotowski in Poland. Shimoda-san was also an active member of Hokkaido-Poland Association. Great performer, buddhist monk and haiku master. An extraordinary person. Rest in peace, sensei.
