We conducted a course introduction to the freshmen on Friday, September 29th, 2023.
In this event, senior students who have already started research life introduce their research topic to the freshmen, who are selecting their course.

We held a poster exhibition, showcased an intro. movie of our lab., and conducted a demonstration of our research (display of chips and wafers of Photonic IC).

* Glossary

• Photonic IC chip: These are optical circuits integrated onto a Si chip, each about the size of thumbnail. ‘IC’ stands for integrated circuits. During our demonstration, visitors had the opportunity to observe specific optical circuit devices using a microscope. (Left in the picture)
• Wafer: A Si plate with disk shape, which is just before cutting the optical IC chip. (Right in the picture)
