About CCB

In April 2021, Collaborative Center for Big data and IoT (CCB) was launched in the Faculty of Information Science and Technology as a GI-CoRE Cooperating Hub to succeed the Global Station for Big Data and Cybersecurity (GSB) to strengthen its framework.

From April 2016 to March 2021, GSB had promoted international collaborative research on big data, information networks, and cybersecurity with University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as an interdisciplinary research hub. GSB had also played a role as a base for the new international education course at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology.

CCB will not only utilize GSB’s existing international and interdisciplinary framework but also work together with domestic and international universities and research institutes to further promote both theoretical and applicational research to tackle real-world problems with fundamental information technologies including big data analysis, AI, and IoT technology.

CCB will also apply the results of its achievements to the Graduate School for Information Science and Technology to support international and interdisciplinary education with the goal of fostering exceptional individuals who will drive research and development internationally in the advanced knowledge-based society.
