Japan-Australia Wagyu beef traceability project
Import and export of Wagyu beef is positioned as an important part of Japan-Australia trade, and achieving trusted provenance, traceability and quality tracking is important to maintain the brand image and expand further demand.
Associate Professor Hiroshi Tsutsui is promoting a research project to realize highly reliable traceability of Wagyu beef and other foods by blockchain and IoT (Internet of Things) technology with Dr. Ying He at University of Technology Sydney.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Technology Sydney and Hokkaido University, and has received grant funding from the Australian Government through the Australia-Japan Foundation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
