Stanford and Silicon Valley
This time we went to California to see how some things are done and what should be avoided while expanding international collaborations. Obviously we need more dedicated staff at our university for such a big task!

Our university was awarded a huge Top Global grant which is meant for the further globalization of our university (Nobel prize laureates are not the only factor that counts while evaluating a higher education unit). The first place we visited in order to invite professors and learn how to deal with internationalization, was Stanford University with which we have strong bonds. That was a very busy week but we managed to talk to several people and bring the knowledge back home. After hours we also visited friends working at all the famous companies around the campus and touch some history (and drop by all the places we used to stay while working at CSLI).

Of course I left some money at the Stanford Bookstore. As always :)

ZX Spectrum, nostalgic machine on which I finished my first programming course when I was 13!
